Bridges

Bridges or dental bridges are a popular and efficient solution for replacing one or several missing teeth. Bridges are held in place by crowns secured to teeth called “abutment teeth”, on either side of the space.

Similar to the crown-making procedure, receiving a bridge will usually require two appointment visits. While your permanent bridge is being made, a provisional bridge is placed over the “abutment” teeth, which have been carefully reshaped so that they appear the same size as your surrounding natural teeth when your crown and bridge is placed.

Bridges prevent adjacent and opposing teeth from moving out of alignment. Misaligned or tipped teeth can encourage the accumulation of bacteria-filled plaque and food-impaction, leading to bad breath, poor oral hygiene and long term loss of the remaining teeth. Having a bridge placed will revive your smile and return your mouth back to its full function and optimal health.
